This model is the third generation of the highly popular 1000X series of wireless noise-canceling headphones. While the overall design follows the common design of the 1000X series, similar to the previous model 1000XM2, the matte finish on the surface and the copper-colored metal parts around the microphone holes give it a significantly enhanced premium feel. The already well-regarded noise-canceling performance has further improved, and the headphones are lighter with thicker headbands and earpads for improved comfort.
Points to consider when attaching the cover:
1. Don’t put it on too deeply
Putting it on too deeply will tighten the cover, making it harder for your ears to fit into the ear cups and causing pressure on your ears when worn.
In the photo above (with the red cover attached), it is put on deeply. This method makes it less likely for the cover to come off, but on the other hand, it may cause pressure on the ears.
To achieve better comfort, it is recommended that the left ear cup is positioned just enough to barely hide the button, and the right ear cup should be put on to the same depth as the left.
However, this might make the cover more prone to falling off, so it is recommended to secure the rubber band part of the cover using a commercial audio jack cover or a magnetic USB charging port. (Please refer to the photo with the pink cover attached)
2. Orient the cover vertically
The cover has different stretch rates vertically and horizontally, and it stretches better vertically.
Since the earpads of these headphones are vertically long, orienting the cover vertically (the direction it stretches well) when putting it on improves the wearing comfort.
To put the cover on vertically, ensure the seam of the cover’s rubber band is at the top (or bottom) of the cup.
This allows you to orient the cover vertically.
